X-rayX-ray is the most common and typically the initial test chosen to evaluate the spine. It is used to visualize the "bony" structures of the spine. It is a painless procedure and can be compared to taking a picture. The clinician can look for fractures, disc space-narrowing, tumors, slipped vertebrae (spondylolisthesis), bone spurs and arthritis. This simple test can be done at NHNSI as part of your exam. There is minimal radiation used for these images; it has been compared to about 10 minutes of sunlight. As you read this information, keep in mind that all treatment and outcome results are specific to the individual. Only your physician can provide you with a detailed list of your specific indications, precautions, potential adverse events, and other important medical information. |
